Description:
Yerba Mate (also referred to simply as Mate) is a stimulating, naturally-caffeinated herbal tea which shares many of the same vitamins, minerals, and compounds found in green teas. Traditionally enjoyed in a hollow gourd (mate) through a wooden or metal straw (bombilla). The flavor of brewed yerba mate is strongly vegetal, herbal, and grassy and is reminiscent of some varieties of strong green tea.
Brewing Instructions:
Use 1 teaspoon tea leaves per 8 oz of water. Steep in water that has been brought to a boil and then allowed to cool for 1 minute (170°F-180°F) for 3-5 minutes.
