It is hard to believe but we are already halfway thru April which means Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner!
Sometimes mistaken for Mexican Independence Day (which is on September 16th), Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862. While celebrated mostly in the US rather than Mexico, this holiday has evolved to honor Mexican cuisine and culture.
Whole chiles, cinnamon, cilantro and mexican oregano, carne asada and other seasoning blends, whole hibiscus flowers, salsas, etc are some of the pantry staples you can find in our store to help you elevate your Cinco de Mayo fiesta.
