Description:
Used primarily to add heat to dishes, this is a dark-red colored, mild heat cayenne pepper. Rated at 35,000 to 45,000 heat on the Scoville scale (ASTA heat range 50 to 80).
Additional Information:
The Scoville scale rates how much a pepper extract must be diluted in sugar syrup until the heat is no longer detectable. For example, our 40 Heat cayenne must be diluted 40,000-fold in order for the heat to no longer be detected.
Notes:
May be treated with up to 100ppm ethoxyquin as an antioxidant and up to 2% silicon dioxide as a flow agent. Best stored in refrigerator if keeping long-term.
